In fact there wasn't just the one but two which had been taking advantage of the vegetation in the large, well kept gardens opposite:
I was surprised just how small they were. Apart from their bulky shape they looked to be much the same size as Penny who was very patiently watching them through the front gate.
That really made my day as my next door neighbour has seen one in his back garden at least twice this year. My garden is well fenced in with high gates so I had given up any idea of seeing one myself.
Well done you to get the photographs John. I saw one on our lane a few years ago but nobody would believe me - wish I had got proof like this.
ReplyDeleteWeaver: As long as it isn't raining I try to remember to put the camera in my shirt pocket. I was lucky that they actually stopped to watch me, or Penny, which gave me enough time before they left the lane.

ReplyDeleteTWG: Yes, Penny just stood still and quiet watching them. When we followed down the lane you should have seen her doing her bloodhound act, following their scent.
