Monday Mystery - Guess What

Mystery

STAR02

A good start to the new season of mystery photos with Ragged Robin, Adrian and Wilma correctly identifying the photo as a close view of a potato / vegetable peeler. They receive my congratulations and the virtual Midmarsh Gold Star.

This peeler has been in the family for a very long time, well over 40 years:

This week's mystery is a bit different.
Here you have a full view but what are the pieces of old branches for?
Guess What:

Just to dispel any doubts it is not my entry for the next Tate Modern exhibition.

Please leave any guesses in the comments.
They will be revealed, along with the answer, next Monday.
No prizes, just for fun and maybe a virtual Midmarsh Gold or Silver Star.

  1. It's a perch for your kingfisher.

  2. Maybe for something to climb up - although one of the branches looks as though it might be sprouting.

  3. lol re: the Tate Modern :) The only time I've seen branches put like that is at nature reserves for kingfishers to perch. So I am going to guess (probably totally wrong!!) that you have put them there for birds to perch on so you can get photographic opportunities?? Of course, it could be to hang bird feeders or to keep herons away?? But will stick with my first suggestion and look forward to the answer on this one :)

  4. To attract spider monkeys to your garden! Actually it looks like you have a climbing fern growing on it. Penny seems to be giving it a good investigation.

Thank you for visiting. Hope you enjoyed the pictures. Any comment, or correction to any information or identification I get wrong, is most welcome. John
