The People vs Winter

One of my daily stopping points on the net is 'The Poke' website which is where I saw this video this morning:  My favourite parts are; reporter v snow plough, the amorous bull and the music soundtrack:

  1. Thank you John, that was such fun, I loved it all but my absolute favourite was the reporter :-) I saw one yesterday where an emergency services worker, on a boat in Leeds, had a snowball thrown down at him from a bridge by a prankster/yob and the man immediately picked up the hose and turned it on the boy giving him a prolonged drenching ;-) It was really funny to see the tables being turned for once. I would have included a link but can never copy and paste in your comment box :-(

Love the photo of Penny out on her snowy walk yesterday John. We had more (un-forecast) snow last evening and night and it's just started again!

  4. mouth watering, throat drying, tongue swelling, back sweating, icey road, phone pole directly in front of you, coming closer and closer into view, foot already to the floor on the brake, tensing up the outside body, locking down your inside(bowels)tight, the shear weight of the van catching up with inertia, still clinging to the steering wheel, "sweet Jesus watch over me", slowing down, and coming to a quiet, uneventful, stop. No bump, no crash, no glass breaking. Legs wobbling, getting out to see, how close i came, seeing only a thickness of one sheet of paper left before contact, and the urge to vomit right after, comes to my mind directly. I'm ashamed of myself, i giggled and snickered at all of these folks.

    1. ImaBurdie - great fun to watch though not such fun to experience as I found out some years ago when I hit unexpected black ice.
